*** ABOUT THE STONES ***

RED JADE: Red Jade is the chi stone, bringing forward the energy of the warrior. It is a talisman of individual power and will, dispelling the fear, worry and doubt that holds one back, and urges one to take action. It is a stone of physical vitality, strength and passion, stimulating the Life-Force energy. Red Jade is an excellent talisman for those studying martial arts or training for athletic performances. It combats hesitation and fear of competition, and urges courageous action in the face of challenge.
Red Jade is an excellent support stone for overcoming self-abuses such as addiction to drugs, alcohol, tobacco or gambling. It gives strength in the face of difficult circumstances and lends the fortitude needed to achieve one's goal. Red Jade is a stone of luck, carrying a frequency of material prosperity and physical health. It is less suited to long-term prosperity than Green Jade, but is quite beneficial in jump-starting one's finances when they are low, or in pursuing a promotion, new job or a raise.

LABRADORITE: Labradorite (also called Spectrolite sometimes) is a considered by mystics to be a stone of transformation and magic. It is said to clear, balance and protect the aura, as well as being an excellent stone for general protection. It is purported to help provide clarity and insight into your destiny, as well as attract success. It is used in metaphysics for dream recall, and finding ways to use dreams in daily life. Mystically, energies of stress and anxiety are said to be reduced by labradorite, possibly due to is energy of self-confidence. Labradorite is said to increase intuition, psychic development, esoteric wisdom, help with subconscious issues, and provide mental illumination.

BRAHMA BRASS PENDANT:
Brahma: is the god first represented in the Hindu Triad (Trimurti). He is the creator of the universe and all living beings are said to have evolved from him.

OM or AUM: is an ancient Sanskrit “word” that was first felt by rishis as they meditated. It was more about the essence of Om than the chanting of it. Eventually as the experience was shared the word came forth and people started chanting it to get the experience of it. So, you ask, what is the experience of Om? It is somewhat difficult to describe with words but Om represents everything. It is said to be the seed of all of creation. Just like an acorn seed has the immense power and beauty of a mighty oak tree. This seemingly small word contains all the power of the universe. It is the beginning, middle and the end of it all or the past, present and future. Chanting Om brings into your awareness the physical reality of this world and your body, the subtle impressions of the mind and emotions and the thoughts and beliefs of your life and this world.

BRASS: In spiritual and metaphysical traditions Brass is the metal that brings out natural good and inner truth. Even the phrase 'getting down to brass tacks' tells of clearing away the old debris and getting down to the pure and natural truth. Composed of Copper and Zinc, Brass has metaphysical healing properties to boost the immune system and to give courage. Repeated wearing of Brass jewelry pieces will cause them to take on your own body chemistry revealing your personal energy signature.

***WHAT IS A MALA***

Mala beads date back thousands of years. Traditionally Mala Beads are made up of 108 beads and have been used in prayer and meditation, but don't be intimidated by that. Anyone can wear Mala Beads whether you meditate or not. Many people are drawn to them for the believed healing properties of the gemstones used. Others are drawn to them because they are just beautiful pieces of jewelry.

You can wear them around your wrist, your neck, hang them at your altar, or meditate on them.

***WHY 108***

There are many different explanations for why 108 is a sacred number. Some say the number 108 represents one thing, nothing, and everything all at the same time. 1=one, 0= none, 8= infinity or all. Another is that It has been said that there are 108 energy lines connecting the heart, with one of them being directly linked to self actualization. Also 108 is a sacred number.

***HOW TO USE YOUR MALA***

If you choose to meditate on your mala, you will most likely use a mantra. A mantra is a word, sound, or phrase repeated to aid in your concentration. It can be as simple as the word "happiness" something you are thankful for, or a sanskrit phrase such as "Om Namah Shivaya" which means “I bow to that which I am becoming”. In the context of this chant, Shiva represents the inner reality…the truest nature of ourselves.

To count your mantras, hold your mala in your hand and turn each bead with your thumb and middle finger. (The index finger is believed to represent 'ego' and is not recommended to turn the beads.)

Going all the way around your mala, you will eventually reach the guru bead — the bead that dangles from the mala. This signals a time for reflection. You can reflect on your meditation practice, give thanks to your mantra, honor your guru — or show yourself a moment of gratitude for slowing down to meditate. Never continue over the guru bead. Instead, turn around and continue in the opposite direction.

Our mala beads have 108, as that's a very traditional and sacred number. They are also hand-knotted gemstone to help aid in the practice of japa meditation.

Meditation is a practice, as is self love.

Don't meditate? No worries. Our necklaces are made with love and intention with beautiful stones that make great fashion accessories as well. :) Wear with your favorite outfit for a night out on the town :)
